VMware ESXi Administrator

Job description

System Administrators are the gatekeepers to the many systems that run our company and our clients. As a System Admin with IBM, you will have the opportunity to provide high-value IT services and leverage our leading-edge technology portfolio in our global network. Your work has a direct impact on the day-to-day productivity of our business by ensuring integrity of, and access to, our most important resource: data.

Your Role and Responsibilities :

Operation and maintenance of systems across VMware infrastructure with High Availability solutions
Resolve escalated by 1st level team’s problem incidents, execute infrastructure changes, requests, security and project management processes
Diagnose issues with clients' hardware and diagnose/resolve VMware/server-related component issues
Basic Network and Storage Knowledge
Provide answers to clients' questions about IT problems and help meet their business needs through innovative IT solutions
Supporting on Critical Cases and Escalations coming from Technical Leaders
Proactive maintenances and recommendations
Be able to coordinate/cooperate with Architects, Consultants and Customer representatives as a VMware Subject Matter Expert


Basic knowledge of VMware vSphere Environments including HA and DRS
Demonstrated knowledge of Windows or Linux Operating System
Ability to write technical and operational management documentation
Written and Verbal fluently in English
Team player and willing to learn new technologies

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise :

Automation skills through scripting tools/commands (e.g PowerCLI, PowerNSX)
Experience in troubleshooting and configuring VMware vCenters (VCSA or vCenter Windows), VMware vSphere 5.5 and above
Experience in Analyze Customer & Architect's Technical Requirements
Experience with troubleshooting vSphere Networking & vSphere Storage issues
